Some argue that the Bible is contradictory concerning who was King Abijah’s mother, Maacah or Micaiah. The argument is that 2 Chronicles 11:20 says that Maacah was King Abijah’s mother, but 2 Chronicles 13:2 says that Micaiah was King Abihah’s mother. However, there is a very simple explanation that solves this alleged contradiction in the Bible.

Scriptures – Was Maacah or Micaiah King Abijah’s Mother?

Maacah Was King Abijah’s Mother – 2 Chronicles 11:20

After her he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom, who bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.

2 Chronicles 11:20

Micaiah Was King Abijah’s Mother – 2 Chronicles 13:2

He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

2 Chronicles 13:2

The Answer
